Humanitarian Assistance Director


Summary

We are looking for an experienced, driven individual to build and lead our global humanitarian assistance team. We envision a team of 12+ people within the next four years whose objective is building, maintaining and deploying the digital infrastructure needed in humanitarian intervention around the world. 

Requirements

  • Over 10 years of experience in civil society/ public service or connexed fields 

  • Previous experience in management positions and leading teams 

  • Ability to operate in an international setting, leading international partnerships and teams

  • Previous work experience or studies in the field of humanitarian affairs or social services

  • Is a very organized, analytical and proactive individual

  • Strong fluency in English. Fluency in any other language is a plus. 

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and project management skills;

  • Excellent people- and team management skills;

  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and diplomacy skills;

  • Able to demonstrate vision and leadership, while also maintaining flexibility, humility, and an ‘all-hands-on deck’ attitude within the team, when needed;

  • Willing to go ‘above and beyond’ for the beneficiaries’ needs and best interests, when required;

  • Able to work under tight and occasionally shifting deadlines;

  • Able to work fruitfully and professionally with multiple cultures and professions;

  • Able to travel when needed;

  • Strong and compelling public speaker;

About the job

  • Work closely with the CEO and VP of Product 

  • Design, build, support and develop a team 

  • Identify, build and maintain close relationships with relevant international and regional stakeholders

  • Plan and coordinate the deployment of the digital civic infrastructure

  • Participate in and actively contribute to international events and high-level forums

  • Actively coordinates with the communications and fundraising/development departments

Time: Full-time

Duration: Initially one-year to start, renewable towards permanence after first year

Contract type: Employee

Location: Bucharest (relocation to The Hague within one year)

Reporting to: President/CEO

Start date: As soon as possible
