PHP/Laravel Developer


We are looking for an experienced individual with specialized PHP/Laravel experience to join our development team and shape the open-source platforms we develop. We envison a team of at least 20 people over the next two years, with the aim of building, maintaining and deploying the digital infrastructure needed for humanitarian interventions and civil society development capacity across the globe.

As a PHP/Laravel Developer, you will work under the direct supervision of the CTO and Director of Product, which gives you the opportunity to learn from experienced leaders and develop your technical and leadership skills. You will collaborate and work closely with our UX teams to transform concepts into platforms and applications that serve the greater good. Your role will involve the design, development and maintenance of Laravel components, utilizing clean code to ensure performance and scalability.

Requirements

  • Over three years of experience working in Laravel.

  • Experience with managing a Laravel application in production.

  • Experience with component-based development.

  • Good understanding of Git and Git workflows.

  • Ability to write clear and well documented code.

  • Knowledge of good development/testing practices for web platforms and applications.

  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of any other foreign language is an advantage.

  • Work permit for Romania/the EU.

    It is an advantage if you have:

    • Previous experience and open-source contributions.

    • Previous experience working in Figma.

    • Experience with Docker and running applications in containers.

    • Previous experience in management and team management positions.

    • Ability to work in an international context.

    • Ability to work autonomously.

    • Excellent organizational skills, critical and analytical thinking.

    • Proactive approach and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

    • Ability to work to short and variable deadlines.

    • Willingness to travel when necessary.

Responsabilities


  • Develop and maintain mobile applications using PHP/Laravel.

  • Technical documentation of applications built in PHP/Laravel.

  • Collaborating with the design team to turn prototypes into functionality.

  • Ensuring code quality through reviews and testing.

  • Solving bugs and optimizing application performance.

  • Actively participating in planning meetings and providing constructive feedback.
