Road to Summit at Commit Global

Part of the Just Peace Festival 2025 – The Hague, International City of Peace and Justice

In the lead-up to the 2025 NATO Summit, The Just Peace Festival offers a dynamic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and action on the urgent global challenges of peace and justice. As part of this broader movement, Road to Summit brings together diverse partners across the city to explore alternative approaches to global security, human rights, and systemic change.

Commit Global is proud to contribute to this collective effort by hosting a series of events focused on ethical technology and humanitarian response. Through workshops, exhibitions, and roundtable conversations, we invite participants to co-create digital solutions that put dignity, inclusion, and safety at the center.

Join us at our office in The Hague for three events designed to spark reflection and action—on how we build technology for those displaced by war and disaster, how we reduce harm by design, and how we tell stories that connect rather than divide.

Three events. One mission: co-create ethical tech for people in crisis.

Reducing Risk by Design – A Roundtable on Unintended Consequences in Humanitarian Work

🗓 Tuesday, 3 June 2025 | 🕠 17:30–19:00

What happens when good intentions lead to harm?
This interactive roundtable invites professionals from across sectors to reflect on the unintended consequences of their work—especially in crisis and displacement contexts. Through guided discussion and scenario-based exercises, we’ll explore how tools, policies, and systems can unintentionally create risk—and how thoughtful design can prevent it.

Who should attend: Policymakers, designers, technologists, NGO workers, civil servants, and anyone shaping systems that impact vulnerable communities.

From Problem to Platform - A Co-Design Workshop on Technology Built for Refugees and Migrants

🗓 Tuesday, 10 June 2025 | 🕠 17:30–19:00

Step into the shoes of someone on the move.
In this hands-on, empathy-based workshop, participants will co-create digital solutions for real-life challenges faced by displaced people. Together, we’ll explore how human-centered design can help bridge the gap between urgent needs and accessible support—building technology that empowers, informs, and protects.

Who should attend: Designers, developers, humanitarians, students, and anyone interested in ethical tech for crisis response.

Open House – Stories, Systems & Solidarity

🗓 Tuesday & Wednesday, 17–18 June 2025 | 🕠 17:30–19:00

What does humanitarian tech really look like?
Join us for an immersive exhibition showcasing Commit Global’s digital platforms for people affected by war, displacement, and disaster. With interactive displays, multimedia storytelling, and a collective Wall of Stories, the Open House invites visitors to explore the power of tech, empathy, and shared purpose.

Who should attend: Everyone—humanitarian workers, technologists, activists, students, neighbors, and you.

Voices from the margins: diversifying voices in European media

🗓 Thursday, June 19 2025 | 🕠 17:30–19:00

In an increasingly polarised world, media plays a crucial role in shaping how we understand one another. This event brings together journalists and experts from the MigraVoice Super Power Community—an EU-supported initiative amplifying the voices of migrants and refugees in European media.

Join us for an engaging conversation on how inclusive storytelling and representation in both traditional and social media can foster empathy, challenge bias, and break down the silos in our personal and professional lives.

Come listen, connect, and be part of the movement toward a more open, diverse, and understanding society.
